U.S. Olympic apparel added to museum exhibition

We have added Carol Menken-Schaudt's U.S. Olympic apparel to "Common Courage", our exhibition of Benton County women's history. Her story is sure to be an inspiration to museum visitors.

Carol Menken played college basketball at Oregon State University from 1979-1981. During her senior year Menken led the nation in field goal percentage and she was OSU’s first All-American player. She still holds Oregon State's career records for points (2,243), rebounds (901) and field goal percentage (.692).

Carol Menken played as the starting center for the United States team in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, where they won the Gold Medal.
